What God Wants For Us: STORY

What God Wants For Us

Part 5 | “Story”

1. Why can the reality of being known by someone be a “mortifying

ordeal”?

2. Read Psalm 139:1-6. How is the knowledge of God relational? What are

the four examples of this reality that “God know us”?

3. Read Psalm 139:7-12. What does the psalmist show us about God’s

proximity to us in this section? What does God want us to know about

Him from this section?

4. Read Psalm 139:13-18. What does the psalmist want us to know about

why God created us? Where do you see that in the text?

5. Read John 4:39-42. How does Psalms 139 and John 4 show us that

God is not ashamed of our stories? Why can that be hard for us to

believe?

6. Read Hebrews 3:12-13. Do you agree that the gospel frees us to live

our stories more truly? Why or why not?

7. How can we help each other live our lives (stories) more like the

Samaritan woman in John 4 and not like the rich, young

ruler in Mark 10?
