1. Read Galatians 2:11-14. How is this an example of how legalistic systems exclude people?

   2. Read Galatians 5:15, 19-21. How do legalistic systems excuse divisive and harsh behavior in the name of defending the faith?

   3. Read Galatians 6:1-3. How do legalistic systems isolate and shame those who need help from others?

   4. Discuss the following questions drawing on your own assumptions and/or experience about church. How might each of these be a sign that your faith is being impacted by legalism?

   1. Do you struggle with comparison to other believers? Do you

   feel less-than other believers? Do you feel better-then other

   believers?

   2. Do you assume that God has no compassion on your story?

   Are you curious about other people’s stories?

   3. Are your prayers riddles with anxious caveats, apologies, and

   explanations?

   4. Does gentle correction anger or devastate you?
