A Weary World Rejoices, Pt. 1

A Weary World Rejoices, Pt. 1 | The Incarnation Continues

Colossians 1:24

  1. Read Isaiah 53. What are the ways that Christ suffered on our behalf? How do these sufferings specifically bring us joy?

  2. Read Philippians 2:1-10. How would you describe “the mind of Christ” as Paul mentions in v.5? What do you think it practically means to have the mind of Christ?

  3. Read Colossians 1:24, Philippians 1:29, Romans 8:17, and 1 Peter 2:20-21; 4:12-13. What does it means to share in the sufferings of Christ?

  4. In Colossians 1:24, what is lacking in Christ’s sufferings? How does Paul continue to “fill them up?” How does this benefit the church?

  5. Read Colossians 1:18. What does it mean that the church is the body of Christ?

  6. Read 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 and Galatians 6:2. What does it mean to make the incarnation of Christ physically felt for one another?

  7. What are specific ways this group can make the incarnation of Christ physically felt?

    1. • Are there any burdens that you need help with?

    2. • Are there any relationships that need repair?

    3. • Is there any sin that needs confession and the assistance of your brothers and sisters?
