The Body of Christ | PT. 5

1. Read Acts 1:1-9. What were the disciples expecting?

2. Read Acts 2:1-13 and Genesis 11:1-9. How is Pentecost the reversal of Babel? Compare and contrast the two stories.

3. Why is experiencing the unity of Acts 2 crucial to the mission of the church?

4. Read John 17:21, John 13:35, & 1 John 4:12. How does the church witness Christ to the world?

5. Read Colossians 1:18. What does it mean that Jesus is the head and the church is the body?

6. What does it mean that the church is called not only to preach the gospel but to do the gospel?

7. Brainstorm 4-6 different promises that God gives us in and through the gospel of Christ.

• How does the church (as Christ’s body) help people practically experience those promises? What would it look like?

• How does that help people trust Christ?

• How does not experiencing these promises within the church damage our trust in Christ?

8. Why is it critical to your active belief in the gospel to be a part of a church where you are committed and known?
